HLA COURSES

Creativex Consulting and our partners, Pitch offer a complete range of HLA training targeted at general management, technical executives, project managers, developers and system integrators. Our trainers are all highly qualified and work most of their time developing HLA tools such as pRTI and Visual OMT as well as implementing HLA in real life applications for our industrial customers. We have been working with HLA since 1995 and delivered HLA training since 1998.

HLA Hands On Training

COURSE OVERVIEW

  • The HLA Hands-On course is intended for developers that want to learn the HLA standard for developing HLA compliant simulators. Parts of the first day can also be suitable for people that want to get an overview of HLA to understand the principals and benefits of using HLA. Over the three days participants will learn how to create an information model, how to build a federate using the HLA API as well as understanding the more advanced HLA topics such as Time management and Data Distribution management.

COURSE GOALS

  • The first day concentrates on HLA introduction, requirements, standardization architecture and basic principles. We cover the DSEEP development process for developing HLA compliant simulation. We also do an extensive walkthrough of the Object Model Template and how to create an information model. We do practical work and create object models using tools such as Visual OMT.

  • The second day is focused on practical exercises. The HLA API will be covered in detail and the participants will build a fully HLA compliant simulator (a federate). We will go through the overall structure and best practices for building a federate.

  • The last day focuses on the more advanced HLA topics. We will look at how time is handled in HLA for synchronizing and controlling the behavior of federates. We will also cover how HLA can be used to minimize the amount of traffic that has to be sent over the network.

HLA Products Training

COURSE OVERVIEW

  • The HLA Products course will give the participants practical experience working with the most popular HLA tools on the market. It is intended for people that already has some HLA experience and want to learn more about how to work with tools supporting the development of federates or already developed federates. The HLA Products course will cover tools for code generation, data logging and setting up and managing a distributed simulation network.

COURSE GOALS

  • The first day is focused on the code generation tool Pitch Developer Studio. Using the FOM (the information model) code can quickly be generated. The focus is on using the generated code to build federates showing how to quickly build a fully HLA compliant federate.

  • The second day starts with looking at Pitch Recorder for recording, playing back and analyzing the data sent over HLA. It then moves on to use Pitch Booster to create a simulation network and ends with using Pitch Commander to manage all the different simulation recourses connected to the simulation network.

  • The Pitch Tools course can be modified to include other tools when bought as an in-house training course. Other tools such as Pitch pRTI, Pitch DIS Adapter and Pitch Extender can also be a part of the course.

HLA Experience

COURSE OVERVIEW

  • This course is a mix between our HLA Tools course and HLA Hands-On. It is intended for people that want to understand the basics of HLA and get practical experience working with our tool set. It begins the same as HLA Hands-On but cuts the advanced HLA topics such as Time management to instead work with HLA tools for data logging, code generation and managing distributed simulation networks. It will give participants a good mix of theoretical knowledge about HLA as well as practical experience working with the HLA API and the HLA tool set.
