How UV-C Destroys Viruses
IN REGARDS TO THE CURRENT CORONAVIRUS
UV-C light has been repeatedly proven to be effective against all types of bacteria, viruses and fungi and there have been numerous tests against SARS and MERS which are also a part of the corona virus family and UV-C was proven to be effective against thee pathogens.
There are currently no indicators at this time that COVID-19 will be any more resistant against UV-C vis-a-vis SARS or MERS.
It is also important to note that the coronavirus i s otherwise typically known to be one of the organisms responsible for the common cold, which can be obliterated with UV-C light.While this novel strain may be more virulent within the human body, there is no reason to suspect that it will be less susceptible to standard methods of decontamination/sterilisation such as chemical agents and UV-C light.
